Day 1 - Yerevan City tour

After you meet your guide in the Zvartnots international airport you’ll be transferred to your hotel (30 minutes drive). After resting and getting fresh in a 4* centrally located hotel, you’ll start the tour exploring Yerevan first, one of the oldest cities in the world founded in 782 BC. One of the highlights of the city is Erebuni Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve. After having a tour in the ruins of millennia old fortress and the museum you’ll visit Genocide memorial monument and museum, dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide, the calamity the Armenians suffered at the end of the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th centuries. Driving along the prominent squares and streets of Yerevan you’ll see the Opera house, Parliament, Presidential residence and other important buildings. After enjoying the delights of Armenian cuisine in the traditional restaurant you’ll have a tour in Brandy factory, tasting 2 types of the most famous and prominent alcoholic beverage of Armenia. The city tour also includes a stop at the Victory Park to have a nice view of Yerevan, as well as a stop in the Cascade complex, a contemporary art garden and museum. B/L/D – Overnight in Yerevan

Day 2 – Matenadaran, Garni, Geghard – Overnight in Yerevan

You’ll start the day getting acquainted with rich culture of Armenia visiting Matenadaran, the largest repository of Armenian manuscripts with around 20000 books. Afterwards you will drive out of Yerevan to visit Garni, which is a Hellenistic fortified fortress constructed in 3-2nd century BC. It’s located on a spectacular triangular canyon, unique with its perfectly vertical cliffs called “The symphony of stones”. The secular and religious buildings of the fortress include the palace, bath house, medieval church and most importantly the only preserved pagan temple in Armenia. You’ll continue the tour visiting Geghard monastery, UNESCO World Heritage site. This is a 12-13th century cave monastery with rock-cut churches and tombs, which was more famous for one the most celebrated relics that it housed, the Holy Lance, which used by a Roman soldier to pierce Jesus Christ’s side. Day 3 - Ejmiatsin, Zvartnots – Overnight in Yerevan

All the places included in the itinerary on this day are UNESCO World Heritage sites. At first you’ll visit The Mother See of Holy Ejmiatsin, which is the religious and administrative center of the Armenian church worldwide and the residence of the supreme patriarch or the Catholicos of all Armenians. Inside the complex you’ll see The Mother Cathedral of Holy Ejmiadzin, the 1st state-built church in the world. You’ll continue exploring Armenian early medieval architectural heritage, visiting the 7th century churches St. Gayane and St. Hripsime, masterpieces dedicated to the 3rd century martyrs. The day will be incomplete without admiring the The remains of Zvartnots, an immense and splendid 7th century cathedral and the archaeological site. B/L/D – Overnight in Yerevan
